& a very merry spring break to me! most of my friends are spending their spring break’s on cruises or in florida or at the beach, but due to my health & various doctors appointments, i’m spending my break at home. which isn’t so bad! i’ve been spending my time catching up on good books, sun bathing, getting my heath sorted, doodling, sipping tea & watching all the disney movies i can. yesterday morning, i decided to watch one of my favorite childhood films, Alice in Wonderland. maybe it’s my love for tea parties, or maybe my crazy imagination, but i just love every aspect of this magical movie.
when i was younger, had a lot more time on my hands, & my dear friends still lived near me (as opposed to across the country & in the UK), i did something wonderful. i hosted an alice in wonderland unbirthday party! each of my friends dressed up as a character, decorated our dining room, & made tea sandwiches, cupcakes, cookies, you name it. we used every tea pot i owned (& as a tea pot collector, that’s a lot), & tried out different kinds of teas. we even created little games to play as the party went on. i must say, it was brilliant. my bestest gal pal susanna, who decided to be the red queen, kept screaming “off with their heads!” throughout the party & it was hilarious.
why am i telling you this tantalizing tale, you may ask? well. because i’m a dreamer & wish i could do this tea party all over again, i gathered a bunch of photo inspiration over on my new pinterest board & i’m going to share my inspiration with you so you can achieve a perfect tea party of your own! anyone want to join me for an unbirthday party?
ready for our tea party? cause i am!
menu would definitely include macarons, cupcakes, tea sandwiches, petit fours, truffles, cakes, tarts, pink lemonade, & all different kinds of tea! everybody would have to bring every tea cup & tea pot they owned to make the tablescape complete, & of course a trip to the florist would be in store. cake plates & bottles & old keys & pocket watches & candles & playing cards would be scattered. & let’s not forget to sing the unbirthday song. i think it sounds delightful!
thanks for tuning in, & i hope you’re all as inspired as i am to go have an alice in wonderland themed unbirthday tea party!
a very merry unbirthday to you!
